Sensei at Zadún
Sensei's science-led Move, Nourish and Rest programmes, with guide consultations, a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam.
Sensei at Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is Sensei’s first international location and the brand’s first beachfront property. It sits on the Sea of Cortez just outside San José del Cabo, roughly ten minutes from the town’s historic centre and about half an hour from Los Cabos International Airport.
Sensei’s approach is evidence-led, shaped by co-founder Dr. David Agus and organised around three pillars: Move, Nourish and Rest. Rather than offering a menu of pampering alone, it builds programmes around consultations with Guides who hold advanced degrees in fields such as fitness, sleep, mindset and meditation.
That focus on measurable, lasting wellbeing is why it belongs on this list. It is the destination’s most structured wellness retreat, suited to guests who want to come home with a plan as well as a tan.
What to expect
The spa offers private treatment rooms with tailored massage, exfoliating body treatments and partner bodywork classes. The grounds include a sauna, steam room, sunlit relaxation areas and a free-form hydrotherapy pool, all included with treatments. A movement studio and savasana room sit within the spa area, alongside a well-equipped fitness centre and an outdoor lap pool.
Packages range from introductory stays to structured programmes that combine private consultations, spa treatments and activities. Complimentary small-group classes run daily, with options such as a morning warm-up, minimalist resistance training and open-sky meditation.
The resort itself has 113 rooms, suites and villas, each with coastal views and a private outdoor plunge pool, decorated with work by Mexican artisans. Dining spans beachfront seafood, Latin American grilling and street-style Mexican cooking.
