Longevity Medical Institute
A regenerative and preventive medicine campus on the hotel corridor, now with its own stem cell laboratory and AI-enhanced full-body MRI.
Los Cabos has become one of Mexico’s main centres for regenerative and longevity medicine. In March 2026, Longevity Medical Institute expanded its campus in the San José del Cabo hotel corridor with two major additions. One is an on-site stem cell and regenerative medicine laboratory. The other is a full-body MRI programme that uses AI image reconstruction.
What is there
The institute says it operates under COFEPRIS, Mexico’s federal health regulator, and that the new laboratory is ISO-certified. It works with mesenchymal stromal cells from several tissue sources, as well as exosomes. The campus also has a surgical centre, an in-house lab that measures more than 120 biomarkers, cardiovascular assessment, and the MRI suite. The team, led by founder Dr. Kirk Sanford, numbers 17 physicians, scientists and chemists.
Before you book
These details come from the institute’s own announcements, and its claim to be the only federally authorised facility of its kind in Los Cabos has not been independently verified. Stem cell therapies are regulated differently in Mexico than in the United States or Canada. Results vary, and any treatment is a medical decision. Ask for the clinic’s COFEPRIS licence, its lab testing reports and the credentials of the treating physician. It is also worth talking to your own doctor first.
Why it’s on our watch list
The pairing of diagnostics, imaging and a resort setting is attracting a new kind of visitor to Los Cabos. We’ll follow how the sector develops, and how it is regulated, closely.
