Maravilla

Maravilla is one of the most intimate private communities on the Tourist Corridor. Set beside Santa María Bay at Km 12.5, on land once occupied by the storied Hotel Twin Dolphin, it is planned for a membership of only about 230, and it shares its stretch of coast with Montage Los Cabos.

The appeal is privacy paired with a full club life. Maravilla was created by Ohana Real Estate Investors with Montage as hospitality partner, and the result feels more like a private estate than a resort.

Golf is part of the draw. The 7,156-yard, par-72 course by Fred Couples, working with architect Todd Eckenrode, was his first Signature Design in Mexico, and membership has been reserved for owners in the surrounding residential communities.

Life here

Residents gather at The Club, with its pool and beach area, and a gear-stocked beach club on the bay. Beyond the course there is a short course and an 18-hole putting course, tennis courts, mountain-biking and hiking trails, and the Maravilla Spa. Dining spans several venues, including Ecco, Papalote, El Jardín and Marea, and Mundo Mavi sits within The Club. Over the years the community has also offered more offbeat pleasures, from a hillside glampsite and dining palapa at Dos Arroyos to archery and outings aboard a day yacht. Homes include El Cielo houses and homesites, and Santa María homesites. The community describes itself as framed by two of Baja’s best swimmable beaches, and independent guides list Santa María Bay among the area’s calm swimming and snorkeling spots, so time in the water is part of daily life. With Montage Los Cabos as a neighbour, resort-level service and dining are always close.
