Querencia

Querencia is the Los Cabos community for people who want a true private club. Spread across more than 1,800 acres near San José del Cabo, overlooking the Sea of Cortez, it is open only to homeowners and their guests, which keeps the fairways, beach and clubhouse quiet in a way resort communities cannot match.

At its center is a 300-acre, par-72 Tom Fazio course, the architect’s first project in Mexico and his only truly private course in Cabo. Golf Digest has ranked it among the world’s 100 greatest courses, and the front nine is known for sea views on every hole. The owners have committed to keeping homes off the fairways, which preserves its sweeping, open feel.

Under ownership led by the McCloskey family since 2017, the club was reinvented with a major renovation aimed squarely at families, and membership extends to owners’ parents, children and grandchildren.

The Q Club Village is the social hub, with several restaurants, a full-service spa, fitness and yoga spaces, kids’ and youth clubs and pools including an infinity pool above the 18th green. Down on the coast, the members-only Beach Club sits above Playa Acapulquito, home to one of Cabo’s best-loved surf breaks, with lessons, gear, cabanas and an outdoor bar. More than six miles of custom mountain-bike flow trails wind through the property for riders, runners and hikers. Homes include single-family residences, villas, Club Villas steps from the clubhouse, and custom homesites, with qualified buyers able to stay on property before committing. Evenings bring culinary showcases, speaker series and art exhibitions, and the concierge can arrange sailing, deep-sea fishing, whale watching and diving.
