Pedregal

Pedregal is the original luxury neighbourhood of Cabo San Lucas, and still one of its most dramatic. Founded in 1974, when Cabo was little more than a fishing village, it climbs the granite hillside directly above town, on the stretch of coast where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez.

No other community combines this level of privacy with this much convenience. Downtown and the marina sit just below, yet the winding cobblestone streets feel a world away. Architectural guidelines protect views and rock formations, so the hillside still reads as landscape rather than development.

On the Pacific side, the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal sits on 24 acres of cliff and beach, reached only through the Dos Mares tunnel, a private passage of roughly 300 meters cut through the mountain.

Life here

Homes range from large hillside villas to condominium buildings with sweeping views, across neighbourhoods such as La Marina, Valle de la Luna Azul and the small enclave of Villa la Ballena. A private desalination plant gives the community its own water supply, independent of the municipal grid. Residents use the Pedregal Racquet Club for tennis, pickleball and fitness, a weekly organic market, and El Camino, a bilingual school within the community. The private Pacific beach is beautiful for walking and sunsets, but its currents are strong, so it is not a swimming beach. The marina’s restaurants and charters are only minutes away, and major supermarkets sit just outside the gates. Hillside living here means cobblestone lanes and steep drives, part of the character for those who love it.
