Pisces has been chartering out of Cabo San Lucas since 1980, which makes it one of the most established names in a town that built its reputation on marlin. A 2002 Los Cabos Magazine profile credited general manager Tracy Ehrenberg with growing the fleet from three boats to sixteen, and noted that it had already won environmental awards for its catch-and-release record.
What sets Pisces apart is its record on conservation. The company says it was the first fleet in Mexico to use circle hooks exclusively for live-bait fishing, a practice that makes catch-and-release far kinder to the fish. Its awards reflect that: a Lifetime Achievement Award for Conservation from the IGFA, recognition from The Billfish Foundation for a top marlin release captain worldwide, and a ranking as a top tagging fleet on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
