SUR Beach House

SUR Beach House is the beachfront outpost of Bahia Hotel & Beach House on Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas. It is a short stroll, or a quick golf-cart ride, from the hotel, and it is run by the same team behind the hotel’s well-regarded restaurants. The result is a beach club that feels more like a stylish beach house than a nightclub on the sand.

Days here are easy. Loungers, daybeds and cabanas face the Sea of Cortez with views across the bay toward Land’s End, and DJs and live saxophone keep the soundtrack warm without overwhelming it. Medano is widely regarded as one of the calmest stretches of water in Los Cabos, though it is also busy with boats and water sports offshore.

It earns its place on this list for its food and its range of things to do. The kitchen is Baja-inspired and seafood-led, with ceviches and king crab among the highlights, served with craft cocktails, zero-proof drinks, morning smoothies and a curated wine list that leans happily toward rosé.

What to expect

Expect a full day’s worth of options. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily, and beach reservations include oceanfront seating, towels, umbrellas and showers, with a food and drink credit. Through Cabo SUP, the club rents paddleboards, kayaks and snorkel gear and runs guided paddles and glass-bottom boat trips toward the Arch. A guided tequila and mezcal tasting, finished with a margarita session, makes a good afternoon for couples or groups.
