The Beach Club at Quivira
Residents' Pacific-edge club with a large pool, gym, sail-shaped open-air cinema and La Concha restaurant.
The Beach Club at Quivira is the private oceanfront retreat of Quivira Los Cabos, the residential community on the Pacific coast just north of Land’s End. It opened in November 2022 with a celebration called Quivira Fest, after roughly two years of planning and 18 months of construction, and it sits beside Quivira’s thatched-roof golf clubhouse at the southern end of the property, where the desert runs down to the ocean.
The Pacific here is a different world from the calm bays of the Sea of Cortez: big surf, broad sand and a sense of open space that the club makes the most of. Rather than relying on the ocean for a swim, it is built around a large zero-entry pool and a hot tub on a terrace at the edge of the beach.
It earns its place on this list for its imagination. Few clubs anywhere have an outdoor cinema shaped like a sailboat, with films projected onto one of its sails, or a gym where members can watch whales breaching offshore from mid-December through March.
What to expect
Expect a family-friendly, resort-style day for residents. La Concha, the beachfront restaurant and bar, serves ceviche, salads and cocktails, and a snack bar and poolside lounge cover the rest of the day. Private daybeds, chaise lounges and a fire pit set the tone, while lawns and a beach deck host events. Showers and changing rooms make it easy to move between the beach, the pool, the gym and the Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course next door.
