Puerto Los Cabos is the most expansive address on the San José del Cabo side of the region. The roughly 2,000-acre master-planned community sits just beyond the San José estuary at the gateway to the East Cape, with about three miles of beachfront on the Sea of Cortez, desert ridges and valleys behind it, and its own marina at its heart.
It is among the best for buyers who want everything in one place. There is golf, a marina, beach clubs, art and a remarkable line-up of hotels, including Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, the JW Marriott, Secrets and Hotel El Ganzo.
Golf includes 27 holes, with the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Marina Course and the nine-hole Mission Course by Greg Norman, and about 70 percent of the fairways have views of the Sea of Cortez. Membership is semi-private. Sculpture gardens and a cactus botanical park bring art and nature into everyday life.

Five neighbourhoods give the community real range: Zadún Residences, Concepción, Fundadores, El Altillo and La Noria, the last three known for privacy and space. The marina has about 200 slips, and a private beach club serves the residential enclaves. Residents also have wellness offerings, a calendar of arts, happenings and festivals, and a growing collection of restaurants and shops. The landscape itself is varied, taking in desert ridges, valleys, an oasis and the estuary, and the developer publishes its approach to sustainable development. Downtown San José, with its Art District and galleries, is close by.
