On the East Cape near the village of La Ribera, Costa Palmas Marina describes itself as Baja’s first luxury marina. It is the maritime heart of the Costa Palmas resort community, which also includes Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas, Amanvari, a Robert Trent Jones II golf course and a members’ club on the Sea of Cortez.

This is a very different proposition from the busy harbour in Cabo San Lucas. The marina was designed for private yachts and sportfishing boats, with a waterfront village of restaurants, bars and boutiques along a promenade, and a pace that matches the quiet of the East Cape.

It earns its place on this list as the most polished base for yachting on this side of the peninsula, with the marina built to grow to accommodate vessels of up to 250 feet.

What to expect

The first phase offers 35 finger and alongside slips for vessels up to 150 feet, split between the Marina Village docks and docks serving the Four Seasons. The master plan calls for more than 300 sheltered slips in total, including private docks attached to marina villas. Slips are served by potable water and substantial shore power.

Service is resort-grade. Guests can expect a complimentary water taxi, golf-cart transport and dockside delivery, round-the-clock mooring assistance and a patrol boat for security. Captain and crew services, dry-dock work, storage, help with permits and licensing, fishing licences and live bait can all be arranged, along with environmentally compliant waste handling.

Ashore, the Costa Palmas Club offers paddleboards, kayaks, children’s sailing camps and regattas, and the marina village provides fresh-caught seafood within steps of the docks.
