La Botica
An apothecary-themed speakeasy pouring house tinctures and Prohibition-era classics, with live music most evenings.
Hidden behind an unmarked entrance beside the spa at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, La Botica is the Tourist Corridor’s most theatrical nightcap. The bar, which opened in early 2020, pays tribute to the Prohibition era and is dressed as an old-world apothecary: dim light, a back bar crowded with herbs, spices and flowers that double as cocktail ingredients, and an exit disguised as a vintage Coca-Cola refrigerator.
What makes it one of the best bars in Los Cabos is the way drinks are made. There is no conventional menu. Instead, a bartender works through a short sensory questionnaire with each guest, touching on favourite films, music, colours, meaningful dates and preferred flavours, and builds a cocktail from the answers. The resort says no two drinks are ever repeated, which turns an ordinary round into a small piece of personal theatre.
For guests who prefer the familiar, the team also mixes Prohibition-era classics and alcohol-free cocktails with the same care. Set inside one of Mexico’s most admired resorts, the experience balances playfulness with genuine polish.
What to expect
Expect a hushed, candlelit room that grows livelier as the night goes on, with a piano at its heart. Live music fills the space later in the evening from Wednesday to Sunday, making those nights the best time to go for atmosphere. It is a natural follow-on to dinner elsewhere at Las Ventanas, and a memorable stop for anyone celebrating, since the bespoke cocktail becomes a story to take home.
