Sala 56
The cocktail and spirits bar inside Palmilla Social Club, at one of Cabo's original luxury resorts.
One&Only Palmilla is one of the most storied names in Los Cabos, and Sala 56 is the bar that looks back on its mid-century golden age with a knowing smile. It sits within Palmilla Social Club, the resort’s newly introduced social and cultural hub, which pairs the intimacy of a private members’ club with an open, community spirit for residents, members and travellers alike.
Sala 56 sets the evening tone for the club. The concept reimagines mid-century glamour with a dash of Baja flair: signature martinis, vintage playlists and gatherings timed to golden hour, with views across rolling fairways to the ocean horizon. It sits beside Lucille’s Café, with Lucille’s Kitchen, the club’s all-day restaurant built around Baja ingredients, close at hand.
The surroundings were reworked by Barcelona-based Astet Studio as a modern interpretation of a Mexican hacienda, with hand-plastered walls, Cantera stone, artisanal tilework and a ceiling mural inspired by leaves, in a palette of desert reds, sage and sea tones. It is a handsome room in which to linger, and a new reason to visit Palmilla even if you are not staying there.
What to expect
Expect a polished, convivial bar that comes alive as the sun sets, with a martini-led drinks list and music chosen to evoke Palmilla’s heyday. The broader club runs a weekly program that has included spirits tastings, vintage cocktail nights, music socials and markets, and special evenings such as Entre Tacos, which has featured a guest cocktail menu from Handshake, ranked among The World’s 50 Best Bars. Check the resort’s site for the current schedule.
