Rosewood Residences Old Lighthouse
Rosewood's first standalone residential community, 550 acres around Cabo's 1905 lighthouse where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez.
Rosewood Residences Old Lighthouse is the first fully branded, standalone residential community from Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, the group behind Las Ventanas al Paraíso. Announced in July 2024, it occupies 550 acres around El Faro Viejo, the lighthouse built in 1905 on the cliffs where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez, within the wider Quivira area. The land has been held by the Coppel family for more than 25 years, and they are partners in the project.
The homes
The first phase includes 144 residences, a mix of turnkey villas and premium lots of roughly 0.7 acres for custom homes. Houses range from about 4,000 to more than 10,000 square feet. Guadalajara-based Gómez Vázquez International is the architect, with interiors by Studio Lifestyle. Sales began in late 2024, and reporting at the time said construction was under way. No completion date for the amenities has been published.
The amenities
The social heart will be The Cliff House, designed by architect Manuel Cervantes Céspedes with interiors by Bibiana Huber Diaz, with a restaurant, private dining room, bar with live entertainment and an outdoor events space. A Beach Club among the dunes will have several pools, cabanas, beachfront dining and a spa. There is also a Family Athletic Center, a Wellbeing Center and access to a private Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course and practice facility. The course, Quivira’s second by Nicklaus, is routed through desert foothills and arroyos with views of both seas, and the Los Cabos Tourism Board lists it among the golf openings due in the second half of 2026. A dedicated Rosewood residential team will be on site around the clock.
Why it matters
Branded residences are common in Los Cabos, but they usually sit beside a hotel. Old Lighthouse is a residential community built around Rosewood service without a resort at its centre, a model that suits owners who want privacy more than a lobby. Its setting, at a historic landmark on the meeting point of two seas, is one of the most distinctive on the coast.
