Ánima Village
An open-air luxury retail village designed by Sordo Madaleno; phase one opened in December 2025, with top maisons announced for the next phase.
Ánima Village is the newest address in Los Cabos to change how people shop, and it does so by refusing to look like a mall. Set inside Cabo del Sol on the Tourist Corridor, the open-air village opened its first phase in December 2025 and is operated by SOMA Group, with architecture by Sordo Madaleno. Instead of an enclosed concourse, there are low terracotta pavilions, shaded plazas and garden paths, so a few hours of browsing feel more like a stroll through a small coastal town.
The design deserves its own visit. The architects treated the project as landscape first: six retail pavilions sit among six open plazas devoted to art, wellness and gathering, built from San José stone, handmade Puebla brick, pigmented concrete and natural timber. Timber pergolas, water features and native desert planting create cool pockets of shade, which is what lets the whole place stay open-air year-round.
What lifts it into The Cabo 100 is its cultural anchor. Arte Abierto, described by its architects as the first public art gallery in Los Cabos, sits below grade at the sea end of the main axis. Its debut installation was a site-built work by Mexican artist Abraham Cruzvillegas, made from local materials.
What to expect
The brand line-up already reads like a short list of international favourites, from Zimmermann, Brunello Cucinelli, Dolce & Gabbana and Ferragamo to Golden Goose, Sandro, Maje, Orlebar Brown and TAG Heuer, with Assouline and Roche Bobois for the home. Sephora, Skims and Sisley cover beauty. Reporting on the project says a later phase will bring maisons such as Cartier, Dior, Prada and Louis Vuitton. Between purchases, the plazas host a changing programme of yoga, tai chi, sound healing, workshops, music and sunset gatherings, and Cream Café is among the dining options open now.
