The Shoppes at Flora Farms
A boutique cluster on the famed organic farm: James Perse, Self Edge, fine jewellery, a natural fragrance studio and artisan goods.
Flora Farms is best known for its Field Kitchen, but the small cluster of shops around it is a destination in its own right. Set on a 25-acre organic working farm in Animas Bajas, just north of San José del Cabo in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna, the Shoppes at Flora Farms bring together a short, carefully chosen list of makers and brands in one of the most beautiful settings in Los Cabos.
What sets it apart is the edit. There are only about ten shops, and almost every one has a clear point of view, from Mexican craft and natural body care to California-cool clothing and fine jewellery. Browsing here between garden paths and farm rows feels nothing like a mall, which is exactly the point.
It also makes a natural before-or-after for dinner. Many shops stay open into the evening, so you can wander with a glass of wine before a reservation.
What to expect
Start at the Grocery for produce picked on the farm, house-cured meats, breads and preserves. HIVE Fragrance Studio offers more than 70 natural scents, some made with flowers and herbs grown on site, and lets you blend your own. Santo Cabo makes handcrafted soaps and body care from mostly regional ingredients. Fashion comes from James Perse and denim specialist Self Edge; Eduardo Sánchez brings fine jewellery; Anne Sidora offers a Baja-inspired line and gift boxes; and Eclectic Array and Etnia carry fair-trade and traditional Mexican crafts, including Huichol beadwork and alebrijes. El Wine Shop pours Mexican and international wines and single-origin coffee.
