Galería Corsica is one of the reference points of the San José del Cabo Gallery District, a place where serious collectors and first-time buyers can both feel at home. Founded by Jean Pierre Renucci, the gallery has operated for more than two decades between Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, and in 2026 it is marking its 25th anniversary.

Its reputation rests on a clear focus: contemporary Mexican fine art. The gallery says it works with more than 100 Mexican artists across painting, sculpture and graphic work, and travel writers have singled it out as one of the finest galleries in town. Over the years its walls and floors have held work associated with names such as sculptor Jorge Marín and the surrealist Leonora Carrington, alongside established and emerging Mexican talent including Alejandro Colunga and Alfredo Cota.

That breadth is what earns it a place on this list: in one visit you can move from sculpture to painting to works on paper, all by Mexican artists.

What to expect

Expect a polished, gallery-quality presentation on Calle Álvaro Obregón, the main street of the Art District. Throughout 2026 the gallery is presenting a collective anniversary show, Entre amigos y maestros, which brings together artists connected to its history. Thursday evenings in season, when the San José Art Walk fills the street, are lively; a weekday morning is better for a quiet conversation about a specific piece. Private or group visits can be arranged directly with the gallery, a good option for anyone planning a significant purchase or bringing a group of friends. The artist roster on the gallery’s website is long and worth browsing before you go, from Ada Colorina and Agustín Castro López to Alberto Estrada and Alicia Bueno.
