Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve
Puerto Los Cabos' Reserve-level resort of pool villas with butler-style service and a Sensei wellness partnership.
Zadún was the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Mexico, and it brings the brand’s most exclusive, intimate style to a dune-backed stretch of the Sea of Cortez in Puerto Los Cabos. The gated community lies just east of San José del Cabo, about ten minutes from the historic centre, where the desert, the mountains and the ocean meet.
The resort has 113 rooms, suites and villas, and privacy is built in. Every accommodation has its own plunge pool, some of them heated, along with a freestanding soaking tub, and the décor showcases contemporary Mexican design and the work of Mexican artists.
It holds two Michelin Keys and a AAA Five Diamond award, and it has a particular reputation for wellness.
What to expect
Wellness is shaped by Sensei, which guides guests through a personalised programme built around moving, nourishing and resting. Stays can begin with an intention session with specialists in mindset, nutrition and exercise physiology, followed by meditation, breathwork, treatments and hydrotherapy.
Dining spans El Barrio, an all-day market-style Mexican restaurant; Equis, for Peruvian-Nikkei seafood; and Humo, a fire-driven grill with fire tables outdoors. Candil is the agave bar. Naturalist guides from the resort’s Ambassadors of the Environment programme lead desert hikes and seasonal whale-watching trips, and golfers have 27 holes by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus at Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club nearby. At the top end, the five-bedroom Grand Reserve Villa sits on the beach.
