St. Regis Los Cabos at Quivira

The long-awaited St. Regis brings butler service, branded residences and a Carlos Gaytán dining programme to Quivira's Pacific shore.

Few openings in Los Cabos have been anticipated for as long as the St. Regis at Quivira. The hotel was first announced in 2017, and its timeline has moved several times since. As of mid-2026, the Los Cabos Tourism Board listed it for late 2026, while Mexico News Daily noted that the date should be treated with caution given the project’s history. That caution is fair. It is also why the resort belongs on this page rather than on the main list.

What is planned

The resort sits within Quivira Los Cabos, the master-planned community on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, on a site of about 33 acres above the Quivira golf course. Published plans call for 120 guest rooms alongside a collection of St. Regis residences, with roughly 1,200 feet of Pacific beachfront. Expect the brand’s signatures: butler service, a spa, beach access and three signature restaurants.

The culinary programme has been placed in the hands of the Michelin-starred chef Carlos Gaytán. His involvement is one of the more interesting details in the project, because it signals an intention to compete with the best resort dining on the Corridor rather than simply serve the hotel.

The setting

Quivira already holds one of the region’s most dramatic golf courses, Jack Nicklaus’ clifftop layout, and a growing roster of residential neighbourhoods. The St. Regis gives that community its first international luxury hotel brand, and with it a public face for a part of the coast that has mostly been known to owners and Pueblo Bonito guests.

Why it matters

The Pacific side has fewer top-tier resorts than the Corridor. A fully realised St. Regis would change that balance and add a new address for travellers who prefer open ocean and big surf to calmer Sea of Cortez water. For buyers, branded residences with St. Regis service are a new kind of product on this stretch of coast.

We will move it toward the main list only after it has opened and shown it can deliver consistently. Until reservations are live, plan with a backup.
