The Grand Hyatt Los Cabos Resort, Golf & Spa is the first hotel to arrive at Oleada Pacific Living & Golf, a new 860-acre oceanfront community on the Pacific coast, about 15 minutes west of downtown Cabo San Lucas. In June 2026 Hyatt and owner Parks Hospitality Holdings said it was expected to open later in the year, and Hyatt’s site has pointed to December 2026. Reporting in July noted that the booking system was accepting stays from January 2027.

A new format for the brand

This will be the first all-inclusive resort in Grand Hyatt’s history. Meals, drinks, entertainment and many activities are included, which puts it in a different category from the Corridor’s classic luxury resorts, and closer to the polished all-inclusive model that has done well elsewhere in Mexico.

The scale is generous: 301 rooms and suites, including 42 swim-out rooms and 57 suites, the largest a Presidential Suite of more than 4,600 square feet. There are six pools and ten dining and drinking concepts, among them a beachfront restaurant, rooftop cocktails, a steakhouse, pan-Asian and Italian kitchens, a market café and a speakeasy.

Spa and golf

The spa has 12 treatment cabins, hydrotherapy, steam and sauna rituals and a traditional temazcal. Outside, the resort looks over Oleada Golf Links, Ernie Els’s first course in Mexico, which plans to give guest access to hotel visitors once it moves to private play.

Why it matters

Oleada is the largest new resort community on the Pacific side in years, and the Grand Hyatt is its anchor. Its success will shape how quickly the rest of the community, including the Conrad and the residences, takes form. It also adds a family-friendly, golf-led option on a coast that has mostly offered either big all-inclusives near town or very private enclaves.

As with any new resort, expect a settling-in period. We will review it once it has a season behind it.
