Arriving at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is an event in itself. Guests enter through a tunnel blasted through the mountain at the edge of Cabo San Lucas, emerging on the far side to a hidden resort between the cliffs and the Pacific Ocean. The property calls it Mexico’s only private tunnel, and it sets the tone for a stay that feels entirely removed from the busy marina a few minutes away.

The resort has been a Forbes Five-Star hotel, with a Five-Star spa, for nine consecutive years, holds two Michelin Keys, and was named the number one resort in Western Mexico in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Its Pacific-facing position means sunsets over the open ocean, and its accommodation is designed for privacy, with plunge pools on many terraces.

What to expect

The Michelin Guide counts 112 keys, spanning rooms, suites, casitas, beachfront suites, villas and private homes. Many come with ocean-view plunge pools, and the villas and casitas add fire pits.

Dining is among the strongest of any Los Cabos resort. El Farallón, carved into the cliffs, serves sea-to-table seafood and has a Champagne Terrace for sunset. Don Manuel’s is the signature Mexican restaurant, with a bar recognised by Forbes Travel Guide, and both it and El Farallón hold Wine Spectator awards. The Beach Club adds wood-grilled cuts at Mar y Leña, while Crudo serves seafood by an infinity pool. The spa draws on the lunar cycle, the sea and Mexican folk healing.
